Please note there are NO roads in to Knoydart! The only vehicular route is by taking the A830 ‘Road to the Isles’ to Mallaig from Fort William, and then hopping on a passenger ferry. Allow yourself 1-1½ hours from Fort William to Mallaig.

How do I get to barrisdale?

To reach either, follow the track inland, passing the grand house and stalkers’ cottage to reach the long stone building that houses the bothy and toilet; the camping area is on the left side of the track here. Note that there are no other facilities or transport at Barrisdale.
